ASSET LEDGER
Effective date: 7/15/2026 · Last updated: 7/15/2026
Please read these terms before using Asset Ledger. They explain what the app does, what it does not do, and the limits of our responsibility. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Daniel Mead ("we," "us"), the developer of Asset Ledger ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Asset Ledger is a personal record-keeping tool. It lets you catalog possessions you own, attach photos and receipts, and generate reports summarizing what you have recorded.
Asset Ledger is a record-keeping tool, not an insurance product, an appraisal service, or professional advice. It does not insure anything, does not value anything, and does not guarantee that any insurer, adjuster, or authority will accept the reports it produces.
Specifically, the app does not:
For questions about your coverage, what documentation your insurer requires, or how to value your property, consult your insurance provider or a qualified professional.
Everything in the app is information you enter. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of your inventory, including item descriptions, serial numbers, purchase prices, replacement values, and photographs.
The app cannot know what you own. If you do not record an item, it will not appear in your reports. Keeping your inventory current is your responsibility, not ours.
The app stores your data on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We hold no copy of your data and cannot recover it for you.
Keep your own backups. Devices fail, get lost, and get destroyed. iCloud sync depends on Apple's services, your account, and your network, none of which we control. Use the app's export feature to save copies of your inventory somewhere safe and separate from your device.
We are not responsible for data loss, whatever the cause, including device failure, device loss or destruction, accidental deletion, iCloud outages or account problems, sync errors, or software defects.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business record-keeping. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app.
You agree not to use the app to create false, fraudulent, or misleading records, including for the purpose of making a fraudulent insurance claim or misrepresenting property to any person or authority. Insurance fraud is a crime. Reports generated by the app are only as truthful as the information you put into them, and that information is yours.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, that data will never be lost, or that reports will meet the requirements of any insurer or other party.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROPERTY, DENIED OR REDUCED INSURANCE CLAIM, LOST PROFITS, OR LOSS OF USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we do, we will revise the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate your license if you violate these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Your use of the app is also subject to the App Store Terms of Service.
