ASSET LEDGER
Effective date: 7/15/2026 · Last updated: 7/15/2026
Asset Ledger is a home inventory app. It helps you catalog what you own and generate documentation you can use for insurance or disaster recovery. Your inventory belongs to you. We do not collect it, see it, or store it on our servers.
Asset Ledger ("the app") is developed by Daniel Mead ("we," "us"). You can reach us at privacy@daniel-mead.dev.
All of the following is stored locally on your device, and synced to your private iCloud account if iCloud is enabled:
If you scan a barcode, the app reads it with your device's camera and saves the number to the item. This happens entirely on your device. The barcode is not sent anywhere and the app does not look it up online.
Camera access is used only while you are actively scanning, and the app does not save images captured during a scan.
If iCloud is enabled on your device, Asset Ledger syncs your inventory to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. This keeps your data available across your devices and lets you recover it if your device is lost or destroyed.
That data lives in your Apple account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access it. We have no ability to read, retrieve, or restore your data — only you can, through your Apple ID.
You can disable iCloud sync for Asset Ledger at any time in your device's iOS Settings.
When you generate a PDF, CSV, or backup file, the app creates that file on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes — email, Files, AirDrop, or another app.
We are not involved in that transfer and never receive a copy. Once a file leaves the app, how it is handled is up to you and whatever service you send it to.
Asset Ledger is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because the app collects no data on our end, there is nothing for us to delete.
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is no request you need to send us to have it removed.
Data stored on your device is protected by the device's own security, including its passcode and encryption. Data synced through iCloud is protected by Apple's security and your Apple ID credentials.
We recommend using a device passcode and keeping your Apple ID secured with two-factor authentication.
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
